Learning Usui Reiki

Reiki is not taught like any other methods of medicine or healing. We are all born with Reiki in us, for Reiki is the power of life itself. The ability to learn Reiki cannot be learned from a book or by instruction. The ability to channel Reiki is passed from a trained Reiki Master/Teacher to the student through a special initiation which attunes them to the Reiki energy.

The Reiki attunement is a sacred spiritual initiation which connects the initiate with higher levels of consciousness and the unlimited source of healing energy. It opens the crown, third eye, throat, and heart and palm chakras for their use in channelling Reiki. Reiki is a gift, which comes directly from the highest spiritual source, and as such a gift should be treated with the greatest respect. It is unique in that there are no requirements of spiritual purification necessary in order for it to work and in order for a person to receive the attunements.

Reiki is simple to learn and to use. We are empowered into being able to channel the Universal Life Force Energy. Through several empowerments we are taught to use Reiki for healing and personal growth through discussion and hands on practice.

There are no prerequisites for Reiki. It is available to anyone at any age, regardless of race, creed or religion. The desire to learn and the empowerments by a Reiki Master are all that is needed.

There are three degrees or levels of the Reiki Ray. Each possesses a unique radiation of energy set forth for a specific purpose in healing.

As a UK Reiki Federation Reiki Master teacher, I teach in accordance with the recommended guidleines as set forth by the UK Reiki Federation - promoting the standard of excellence in the Training and Practice of Reiki.

Introductory Pre-Course Reiki Workshop

If you are interested in finding out more about learning Reiki before committing to a Reiki Training course or if you are unsure if Reiki is the path you wish to follow, then this option is for you. It is important that you find a Reiki Master with whom you are comfortable and also that you are happy with the way they work. To meet this demand, I have put together this introduction to Reiki - a pre-course workshop to help you make an informed decision about whether you would like to go ahead with Reiki training and also whether you are happy to allow me to be your teacher at this time.

This informal class will give you the opportunity not only to relax and enjoy a full Reiki treatment it will also to allow you to discuss the benefits of learning Reiki for yourself and ask any questions you may have.

You will learn about the history of Reiki, how Reiki can be used to bring positive energy and balance in all aspects of your life and also what you can expect from each progressive level of training.

This three hour course is taught one to one.

Reiki Refresher Workshop - Back to Basics

This workshop is available to everyone who has Reiki I or above

If you would like to refresh your basic skills in Reiki then this is the workshop for you. This is ideal for students who wish to brush up on technique and increase their confidence in working with Reiki and treating others either before moving on to the next level of Reiki training or to improve working with their exisiting skills.

Reiki II Refresher Workshop

This workshop is avaiable to everyone who has Reiki II or above

This workshop is designed specifically for students who have already undertaken Reiki Training to at least level II in the past and would like to refresh their Reiki II skills, working with the three keys or symbols which are given at this level.

This will allow students to brush up on technique and increase their confidence in working with Level II Reiki either before moving on to the next level of training or to improve working with their Reiki II skills.

Reiki Master Practitioner Refresher Workshop IIIA

This workshop is open to everyone who has Reiki IIIa or above

This workshop is designed specifically for students who have already undertaken Reiki Training to at least level IIIa in the past and would like to refresh their Reiki IIIa skills, working with the Master symbol and Advanced Reiki Techniques.

First Degree - Reiki Level I (called Shoden in Japan)

Reiki I is a permanent attunement to Reiki and is a tool for personal development and transformation.

You will receive four Reiki attunements which will empower you to channel Reiki energy.

Once initiated you will be able to channel Reiki for healing yourself and others for the rest of your life.

You will learn everything you need to know about Reiki for the purposes of giving treatments to yourself and others at this level, including the basic hand positions and explanation of both the physical and metaphysical aspects of each position.
Reiki I is the foundation of all Reiki training and must be mastered thoroughly before the student progresses to Reiki II.

There are no pre-requisites to learning Reiki One - only an open heart and a desire to learn

Second Degree - Reiki Level II (called Okuden in Japan)

The second degree is available to anyone who has comleted Reiki I and wishes to deepen their experience and commitment to using Reiki in their lives.

Reiki II requires further initiations for attunement to the keys utilised in this level.

The first key allows for a greater amount of energy to be drawn and each student to experience a greater sense of the power within.

The second key allows each student to tap in to the Universal Consciousness and to help others heal on an emotional level.

The third key allows each student to go beyond the physical limitations of time and space to promote absentee healing, to send healing energy into events of the past, present and future, and to help the healing of Mother Earth.

Third Degree - Reiki Level III (Master Level)

The student is attuned to the full Reiki Ray and the remaining three keys. These keys allow the Reiki Master to bring about a shift in conciousness and heal at a soul level.

The Reiki Master degree can be taught in two stages:-

IIIA Master Practitoner

For those who would like to learn the Advanced Reiki Techniques and work with the Master's symbol and have no desire to teach, then a Reiki Master Practitioner course is available.

The student learns to work with the Reiki sacred Master Symbol and the Master level of energy, Advanced Reiki healing techniques, meditation, Energetic Anatomy, Self awareness, Care of the Healer, listening skills, Basic Anatomy & Physiology, Reiki Ethics, NOS, Client care, Practitioner Skills, Practice Management etc.

(Basic Practitioner is also available for students who do not wish to train as Masters- please ask)

Pre-requisite : First and Second Degree Reiki

IIIB Master Teacher

A Teacher of Reiki and now, for those guided, the path of Teacher begins to unfold.

Master Teachers are also Master Practitioners.

The student learns the skills and knowledge so as to attune and teach other people. Training consists of working with the Master Teacher, learning what to teach, how to teach, how to carry out the attunements on all levels and how to help students find their own path and assisting them in their experience of Reiki.

You must be prepared for a life long commitment to a healing practice and a spiritual discipline, to teaching and passing on the knowledge with integrity and purest of intention.

Pre-requisite for Reiki Master Teacher: First, Second and Reiki Master Practitioner degrees.

Animal Reiki

This course will give the student the skills and experience to offer Reiki to different types of animals.

Theory - includes ethics, legalities, energetic anatomy, Reiki techniques for connecting and working with animals, how to behave around animals and their humans etc

Practical- Students will be working with a variety of live animals, both domestic and wild, offering them Reiki and learning how to put the theory into practice.

Pre-requisite - Students must be attuned to Reiki II and be confident using the three symbols given at this level although it is not necessary that students have completed Reiki II to take this course.
