Townhill is a small village situated

to the North of Dunfermline City

in Fife, Scotland

Historically the village was known to exist as early as 1322, but was named 'Townhill' in the early 19th century

The woodlands and 70% of the Loch are included within Fife Council's Common Good Asset holdings.

 

Townhill has a Community Council which offers support and advice to residents, and is best described as a conduit between residents

and Fife Council's many area management departments eg Parks, Cleansing, Transport, Safer Communities etc

Townhill Community Council (TCC) is subject to and abides by Fife Council's 'Constitution for Community Councils'.

TCC is also registered with GDPR and is therefore limited as to the data published on this website i.e. being current and totally under our control.

 

 

Townhill has a children's park featuring; A putting green, tennis courts, football pitch, adult exercise area, enclosed childrens play area, zip slide and a picnic seating area.

Townhill is the start of a cycle/jogging/walking traffic free track which runs as far as Kingseat.

Locally born football legend Billy Liddell is commemorated within the park

We also have created two phases of a tribute to our mining heritage within the park, the 1st phase features applicable wooden carved statues and talking posts.

The 2nd phase features a commemorative wall /seating area with three plaques depicting the names of some of the local miners of days gone by (many were only children)

Townhill Loch Water Activities are operated by Water Ski and Wakeboard Scotland

Townhill is the headquarters representing this 'hub & spoke' organisation.

Our woodlands the Loch and its surrounds feature a diverse variety of wildlife

Townhill Community Centre

Is central feature of the village and hosts many activities throughout the week.

The building also contains TCC's 'Book Lending' library & PC/ Wi Fi station ( free to use)

Townhill Main St has: a Dispensing Pharmacy, General Store, Chinese Takeaway, Hairdressing Salon, Cake Specialist shop,

with an unique Gift shop in Loch St and a long established Bowling Club in Green St.

First Aiders plus a Defibrillator is sited for public access at No1 Green St (@ Ronnie Cowan Specialist Cars .... sales/servicing site)

Townhill Community Council Meetings

Are held the third Thursday of every month except December, starting 7pm until circa 8pm in Townhill Community Centre
